Olivia with family

On Saturday Betty, Greg's mom, took Olivia and our nephew Gabe all day. We dropped her off at 8:30am. They spent the entire day together. All day today Olivia keeps calling me Nana Mommy. I know she had a really fun day. Thanks Betty!

Thanksgiving Day

{Heather Miller & I did the 5k Turkey Trot} The rest are pictures of our family. All of you can probably figure out who is related to who!

Here a a few pictures from Thanksgiving 2009. I'm so thankful for family. What a wonderful blessing to have family nearby. We both have spent many Thanksgivings away from loved ones because it was too far to travel for the day. So this year we were able to visit both my side of the family and Greg's. It was a wonderful day to be thankful!

Back to School

Today I drove Jadyn, my friend Kathryn's daughter, to school. I think I have serious parental issues. When we were driving her to school I wanted to cry as if I was leaving Olivia there. I love Elementary school so much!! It's one of the best places on earth besides maybe grandma's house and the temple. I have to say though, where were all the art projects in the halls? Isn't the PTA earning money to help incase these young kids' art projects? Don't even get me started on the PTA! I didn't see a classroom full of children's learning decor. What is going on? This is Kindergarten or College? Every Elementary school class should look like the Crayola Company got into a fight with the Elmer's Glue Company. I want to see handmade items hanging from the rafters! I was expecting turkeys for Thanksgiving. What about custom name tags for their desks? Remember when everything got laminated? I love lamination. We have a machine at work that we use for random things. Well, maybe the teachers are focused on math and reading which don't always involve a visual. When we walked into the school the teachers were surprised to see an adult escorting Jadyn to school. They all kept introducing themselves. I said I was Jadyn's Aunt and Olivia and I were excited to see Jadyn's classroom.

Happy Veteran's Day!

Happy Veteran's Day to all who serve in the armed forces both past and present. My heart goes out especially to the women and mothers! And Greg my special veteran!! He enlisted in the army at 17 and was stationed at Ft. Hood Texas for 3 years. We love all our U.S. Soldiers. We pray for the families of the soldiers that our deployed at this time.
Happy Veteran's Day!

p.s. May I suggest making Veteran's Day a paid holiday at Multicare Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in 2010!

New Family Pictures

We got new family pictures. The last time someone actually took a picture of our whole family was when Olivia was 3 weeks old. They were hideous and we didn't show them to anyone. My friend Melanie Willis took them. She did such an awesome job and the price is very reasonable. She has a photography website if you have any questions. So we will be sending you all Christmas cards this year. Make sure to leave a comment or email me your address so we can send a card to you.
May you have a wonderful holiday season.
Love, The Rosados

Twilight My Way!

Everyone knows I'm not the biggest Twilight fan. I think it's silly! However, my friends like Twilight, so this is my way of getting into it by donating BLOOD!! The funny thing about donating was my cousin Sandra McDonald actually was the one that did my stick.
October is the perfect month to give blood.
Just a few other facts about donating:
Only 5% of the population donates blood.
Each person that donates saves about 3 lives.
It only takes a few minutes after to replace the fluid lost.
It takes about 42 days for the human body to regenerate the red blood cells that were donated.
Every two months you can donate again!
You need to be 110 pounds to donate (they will count the clothes you're wearing though)..lets just say I barely made the weight cut-off...ha ha.
Also, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Make sure you do a monthly self exam to check for lumps or anything unusual. If you are over 40, each year you should get a mammogram.
Jenny Thompson
Sharon Johnson
Mary Lee Backstein
Mary Conklin
These are family members who have survived breast cancer. Please let me know if you are a breast cancer survivor so I can add you to my list.

To Becca Anderson

I found this pumpkin scone at a coffee shop in Tacoma. I was hoping you could recreate it for me.
It tastes like a pumpkin scone from Starbucks with maple bar frosting topped with hazelnuts. It's so good. Next time I go to work I'll buy one and bring it home to you so you can guess the recipe.
